In recent days, the presidential campaign has exploded.

Videotapes of Donald J. Trump glorying in his sexual conquests (or attempts) have caused a hemorrhaging of support--especially among women, who are shocked and sickened by his sheer grossness, when he bragged about grabbing women, in their privates (!).

Many Republicans, who are thoughtful, sensitive and honest, are simply repulsed by the man.

But as the old saying goes: 'You get what you pay for' (or maybe I should say, 'what Trump paid for').

This, then, is the face and voice of the Trump Party, branded by a man who loathes everything, but money.

The political scientist, Andrew Hacker, author of Two Nations: Black and White: Separate, Hostile, Unequal (Ballantine: 1992), predicted that the Republican Party would morph into the white party, which neither wanted nor needed the Black vote.

Under Trump, it no longer wants Latino votes.

Two million American Muslims need not apply either, it seems.

And because of the nation's demographic changes, the GOP is left with creating barriers to voting and blocking Black and Latino voters from the ballot box, by hook or by crook.

For generations, these were the tactics of the Democratic Party, enforced by the white terrorists of the Ku Klux Klan.

Now, the Klan is on board with the Trump Party.

The Republican Party is on fire.

But this isn't a case of arson.

Donald J. Trump lit the match.

And like a silly child, he is clapping with glee, as it burns to the ground.
